Sports Networks to Tackle Alcohol Attitudes

Funded by the State Government, this project aims to assist state sport associations (SSAs) and their affiliates towards the responsible management and consumption of alcohol in their environments.

Operating in partnership the WA Sports Federation, Department of Sport and Recreation and an initial seven sports have committed to the project. The SSAs include, Basketball WA, Football West, Hockey WA, Rugby WA, Surf Life Saving WA, WA Cricket Association and the WA Football Commission and will increase as the project progresses.

The Project Objective is to:

• Strengthen the WA sporting industry in taking a lead role in the community in developing socially responsible clubs and behaviours relating to the management and consumption of alcohol.
